Q1. Define Mobility?
- The location of MS and their point of attachment to the fixed network change that includes MS are not static and it needs to design distributed algorithm. The center of activity, system load and locality change dynamically, the search cost is increase and necessary data structure, algorithm, query execution plan are needed to design for representing, managing and querying the location of MS. Mobility also raise security and authentication issue.
Q2. Define wireless communication?
- Wireless network are more expensive often less band width and are less reliable. The error rate is high, the bandwidth is an important resources and the data transmission over the air is monitory expensive.
Q3. Define the concept of Portability?
- MS is light and small to carry easily, for this the cost and label of technology is increase then static element MS totally depends on battery and need power consumption. It has less memory, small screen size and easily damage stolen or lost thus there are less secure and reliable then static element.
Q4. Define AD-HOC network?
- A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) consists of a number of mobile device that come together to form a network as needed, without any support from any existing intranet infrastructure or any kind of fixed station. Mobile AD-HOC network can be defined as an autonomous system of nodes or mobile station or mobile host connected by wireless link. In MANET no infrastructure exists and network topology may change dynamically in an unpredictable manner. Since node are free to move.
- MANET are basically peer-to-peer, multi hops network in which information packets are transmitted in a store and forward manner from a source to destination.

- As the nodes moves, the resulting change in network topology must be made known to the other nodes so that prior topology information can be updated.
Q5. What are the characteristics of AD-HOC network?
- The characteristics of AD-HOC network are:-
- Dynamic topology.
- Low bandwidth.
- Energy Constrain.
- Limited physical Security.
Q6. Define routing in Ad-HOC network?
- Major goal for selecting a routing protocol are:-
- Provide the maximum possible reliability by selecting alternative roots if node connectivity fails.
- Root network traffic through the path with least cost in the network by minimizing the actual length between the source and destination through the least number of intermediate nodes.
- Give the node that best possible response time and throughput.
